Construction Estimator- Northwest Arkansas

The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, detailed, and timely cost estimates, budgets, and quantity takeoffs that support company profitability and strategic growth objectives. This role ensures project cost integrity by analyzing construction documents, identifying scope gaps, validating subcontractor pricing, and providing clear cost data for decision-making throughout preconstruction and purchasing.

Client Details

Our client is a an established construction firm that has been in the Northwest Arkansas market for 30 years. This small-sized firm specializes in building Multifamily, Single Family and Custom Home construction projects from start to finish.

Description

  • Review construction documents, designs, specifications, and addenda to ensure full scope comprehension.
  • Perform complete line-item quantity takeoffs for materials and labor for assigned disciplines.
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimates at various stages of design.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
  • Conduct market research to validate pricing assumptions, escalation risks, and supply chain issues

Profile

A successful Construction Estimator should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience on residential, commercial, or site development projects over $7M.
  • Proven success working with multiple concurrent bids, conceptual estimating, value engineering, and construction document reviews.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline, or equivalent estimating experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PlanSwift.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and specifications and perform detailed CSI-division takeoffs (Divisions 03-12). * Excellent analytical, mathematical, and cost modeling skills.
  • Strong understanding of market pricing, construction means/methods, material lead times, and labor availability.
  • High degree of accuracy, detail orientation, and process discipline.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assess risks, propose alternatives, and recommend corrective actions.
