Qualifications Engineer - Aerospace Composites - Maryland
In this role, you are responsible for being a subject matter expert when it comes to materials used within each of the product offerings. You will qualify new material changes from suppliers as they come in as well as work with different departments on New Product Introduction to ensure that all processes align with the need of the customer.

Description
For this role, find more details below regarding what the Senior Quality Control Engineer will do:
- Lead and execute product qualifications for aerospace materials, including raw materials and finished goods, supporting changes and new business opportunities.
- Develop qualification strategies compliant with corporate standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (manufacturing, quality, engineering, sales) and external partners (suppliers, customers) to ensure effective and efficient requalification projects.
- Manage change procedures in coordination with site and global quality organizations.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert when it comes to the materials used within each of the clients product offerings.
- Work crossfunctionally on NPI projects to ensure smooth processes that create beneficial product offerings that align with the needs of the customers.
Profile
A successful Senior Quality Control Engineer will have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Polymer Science.
- Experience in the composites industry is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of the composite industry, including resin families and fibers.
- Proven problem-solving, technical presentation, relationship-building, and technical conflict resolution skills.
- Basic understanding of analytical, physical, and mechanical test methods.
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis.
- Commitment to high quality standards and a strong sense of urgency (action-oriented).
- Ability to create and lead cross-functional teams, engaging internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated initiative in solving complex technical and process problems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to display and develop project management skills.
