Celebrating 50 years in business, this leading General Contractor has become the go-to for clients seeking to build in the MidAtlantic and Carolinas. Extremely low employee-turnover - people LOVE working for this company! Across 140 employees, the average employee tenure is 10 years. While their construction portfolio is diverse (commercial, retail, car dealerships, multifamily, light industrial), the focus right now in North Carolina is on tilt-wall construction with a 160,000 sq ft project kicking off this summer.
Description
- Project Oversight: Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.
- Site Coordination: Coordinate daily job site operations, including managing subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain construction schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Enforce quality assurance procedures and ensure work complies with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular site inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address issues or delays promptly, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring they adhere to project scope, schedule, and safety requirements.
- Communication: Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers, owners, architects, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily reports, site logs, RFIs, change orders, and other project-related documentation.
- Resource Allocation: Manage labor, materials, and equipment efficiently to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Profile
- 7+ years of construction experience in the field running your own projects
- Previous tilt wall/ tilt-up projects required
- Someone who puts relationships and safety before all else
- Teamwork is your #1 core working value
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field highly desirable
- Applicable construction management software proficiency (Procore preferred)
- Effective team-building skills to support a positive team atmosphere & meet high productivity goals
- Strong communication skills to properly manage workers on site and maintain productivity
