Materials Manager | Food Manufacturing
The Material Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of short- to medium-term production schedules while ensuring optimal material availability to support manufacturing operations. The Manager will drive continuous improvement in planning processes, support ERP optimization, and lead a team to ensure seamless coordination between material supply and production demand.

Description
Material Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain short term production schedule and material plans in D365 to support production schedules.
- Analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs and convert planned orders into purchase, batch orders, and production orders
- Manage document flow to the production floor and collection of documents.
- Review, reconcile, and close production order and batch orders
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with procurement to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Adjust planning parameters in D365 (lead time, safety stock, reorder points, etc.) as needed.
ERP & Data Management
- Utilize D365 to track material status, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate material master data, including BOMs, routings, and item attributes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in D365 related to material consumption, receipts, scrap, and inventory.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, warehouse, and quality teams to align material plans with operational needs.
- Communicate material risks, delays, and recovery plans to stakeholders proactively.
- Support engineering changes and new product introductions by coordinating material readiness.
Inventory Control & Optimization
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to support lean manufacturing and minimize carrying costs.
- Identify slow-moving and excess inventory and work with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation plans.
- Participate in physical and cycle counting processes to ensure inventory accuracy.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Generate reports on material availability, inventory health, and planning KPIs from D365.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to drive improvements in planning, sourcing, and fulfillment.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize material flow and ERP utilization.
Profile
- 5+ years experience with consumer packaged goods
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
- Highly proficient with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Advanced certificates (CSCP, CPIM) are encouraged
- Prior ERP experience highly desired
- Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment
- Effective communication skills both to our vendors and various levels within the organization
- Self-driven
- Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy
- Bias to action with a strong sense of urgency and takes initiative

- Salary between $80k-$100k for a Supervisor and up to $130k on the base for a Manager
