Manufacturing - R&D Chemist/Engineer- Boxborough, MA
The R&D Chemist role offers the opportunity to work closely with the President, learning to transition chemicals from R&D to mass production, optimize processes, and reduce waste. The position requires expertise in process engineering within a chemical environment and the ability to influence the R&D team to improve efficiency and minimize scrap.

My client specializes in manufacturing chemical coatings for industries such as semiconductor, automotive, and medical. With R&D and production facilities in Massachusetts, they work with top-tier microelectronics companies and are focused on growth and profitability over the next few years.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Transition chemicals from R&D to production, focusing on process optimization and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new processes and products.
- Set up and test new product samples and equipment.
- Utilize analytical instruments such as FTIR, GC-MS, and UV-VIS.
- Work with Schlenk/Glove box techniques for chemical handling.
- Create and manage PID diagrams and oversee project management tasks.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of process engineering experience in an R&D chemical environment.
- Expertise in chemical production process optimization.
- Familiarity with Schlenk/glove box techniques.
- Experience with analytical instruments (FTIR, GC-MS, UV-VIS).
- Solid understanding of PID diagrams and project management.
