The Commercial Banking Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting of new transactions in the CRE and C&I sector.

The hiring company is a leading financial institution with a strong presence in the commercial real estate lending market. The Commercial Real Estate Lending department is responsible for underwriting and managing loans for multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties.

Job Summary:
The CRE Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting new loan transactions for multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate finance and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Underwriting: Conduct thorough underwriting analysis for new loan transactions, including financial statement analysis, cash flow projections, and market research.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support underwriting decisions and loan structuring.
Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting the commercial real estate sector.
Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored loan solutions.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive loan documentation, including credit memos, risk reports, and loan approval packages.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including loan officers, portfolio managers, and legal advisors, to support the execution of loan transactions.
Profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, with a focus on multi-family, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial analysis software.
Excellent understanding of commercial real estate finance and underwriting methodologies.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
High ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity.
Job Offer
$100,000 - $130,000 base salary.
