Our client, established over 30 years ago in Baltimore, MD, has earned a reputation for excellence and grown into a leader in real estate development, general contracting, and construction management. Specializing in multifamily, entertainment, and data center projects ranging from $5M to $100M+, they are now looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager with electrical scope expertise to join their team on a large-scale data center project in Northern VA.
Description
The Assistant Project Manager - MEP Data Center Scope - Herdon, VA will be responsible for:
- Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical work, ensuring adherence to timelines, specifications, and quality standards.
- Managing electrical contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety regulations.
- Tracking electrical costs, assisting in budget management, and preparing cost estimates to maintain budget integrity.
- Helping develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of electrical tasks.
- Ensuring all electrical work meets codes, standards, and project specifications, performing quality checks as needed.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, resolving issues and ensuring resource availability.
- Maintaining records of RFIs, change orders, submittals, and daily reports for the electrical scope.
- Visiting sites to monitor electrical work, troubleshooting issues, and supporting on-site teams.
- Identifying and resolving electrical-related challenges, providing proactive solutions.
- Updating clients and stakeholders on electrical progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
Profile
The Assistant Project Manager - MEP Data Center Scope - Herdon, VA will have:
- Holding a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Having previous experience in construction project management or electrical construction projects is highly desired.
- Being familiar with electrical systems, codes, and standards (NEC, OSHA, etc.).
- Demonstrating strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Possessing the ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Being proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Having knowledge of construction processes, electrical systems, and safety regulations.
- Working well in a team environment and collaborating effectively with other departments and contractors.
