Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial - Canton, MA

My client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will contribute to the design of next generation, high performance products. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is skilled in SolidWorks to lead design initiatives and ensure high-quality engineering solutions.

Description

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

• Create detailed SolidWorks designs and drawings.
• Convert customer concepts into manufacturable solutions.
• Transform engineering proposals and specifications into production-ready designs, including tooling and fixtures, applying DFMA principles.
• Design, analyze, and prototype components for high-performance applications.
• Recommend materials, tolerances, GD&T, and finishes to ensure design integrity and functionality.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations (strength, pressure, effective areas) and conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Lead design reviews and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Profile

A successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer should have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for design, drafting, and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and improve designs.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Onsite role.
