Senior Finance Associate
Our client, a well-established university based in Manhattan, is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Associate. This is a temp to perm role, and the successful candidate will have 5+ years of accounting/finance experience & be immediately available to start a new role.
Client Details
Well-established university based in Manhattan. This role is 4 days per week in office with 1 from home, and offers an individual with 5+ years of accounting/finance experienced the chance to join a collaborative team at a mission-driven university.
Description
This role will involve you to:
- Lead U.S. finance operations across nonprofit and foundation entities
- Manage accounts payable, expense processing, and banking
- Own general ledger and month-end close, ensuring U.S. GAAP and nonprofit compliance
- Oversee U.S. tax filings and annual audits with external advisors
- Liaise with global finance teams (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A)
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Establish scalable processes, policies, and internal controls
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit tax compliance
- ERP experience required (Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI preferred
- CPA or CMA credential (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred
- Spanish language skills a plus (not required)
