Construction Estimator
The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, full-scope cost estimates across all construction divisions, with a particular emphasis on projects in the life sciences sector-including labs, clean rooms, R&D spaces, and biotech facilities. The ideal candidate has broad technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support fast-paced, high-stakes estimating efforts.

We are a well-established and growing Montgomery County, PA-based general contractor specializing in commercial, multifamily, and life science construction projects across the Greater Philadelphia region. Known for delivering complex projects with precision and professionalism, we are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience in life science facility construction to join our pre-construction team.
Description
Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates for ground-up and interior fit-out projects across commercial, multifamily, and life science sectors.
Perform take-offs and pricing across all scopes of work (site, structural, architectural, MEP, finishes, and specialty lab systems).
Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors; perform scope reviews and ensure bid coverage.
Support budgeting and value engineering efforts throughout the design and pre-construction phases.
Maintain accurate historical cost data, unit pricing, and estimating templates.
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers to ensure constructibility and cost-efficiency.
Track market trends and pricing, especially as they relate to lab-specific materials and systems (HVAC, controls, specialty gases, clean room finishes, etc.).
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (required).
3-7 years of estimating experience with a general contractor; strong background in life science or healthcare projects (required).
Deep understanding of MEP systems and technical scopes common in lab and research facility construction.
Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Excel, Sage).
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and organizational skills with a collaborative mindset.
