VP Total Rewards - NYC 4 days in office - $175k-$225k + Bonus
Our client is in search of a Senior Director of Total Rewards to lead their compensation, benefits, and payroll strategy. This is a highly visible role that will oversee all aspects of total rewards, with a focus on compensation, payroll, equity administration, and strategic benefits planning for corporate and union employees. You'll lead a small but capable team, help modernize systems, and act as a key partner across HR, Finance, and Legal.
NYC (Midtown) 4 days a week in office, 1 day work from home.
$175k-$225k + bonus and great benefits.

Our client is in search of a Senior Director of Total Rewards to lead their compensation, benefits, and payroll strategy. You'll lead a small but capable team, help modernize systems, and act as a key partner across HR, Finance, and Legal.

Description
Lead and refine the organization's total rewards strategy including compensation, benefits, and payroll programs.
Own and oversee union payroll processes, ensuring compliance with all contract-specific pay structures, dues, and timing.
Oversee equity grants and administration, partnering with Legal and Finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Guide benefits strategy and vendor relationships-manage contract negotiations, renewals, and plan design alongside brokers and carriers (Cigna, Fidelity, etc.).
Partner closely with internal stakeholders on benchmarking, compensation analysis, and job leveling across the organization.
Serve as a thought leader and escalation point for all total rewards matters; support and coach team members.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including union agreements, ACA, ERISA, FLSA, and IRS guidelines.
Optimize and manage use of ADP Workforce Now for payroll and HRIS reporting.
Provide mentoring and development opportunities for a team of three, with one direct and two indirect reports.
Profile
10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
Strong union payroll experience is required-you understand the nuances of union dues, contracts, and payroll structures.
Experience administering equity programs (stock grants, RSUs, etc.).
Demonstrated success in benefits plan design and contract/vendor negotiations.
Deep understanding of total rewards compliance and best practices.
Proficient in ADP Workforce Now and comfortable working in mid-sized, complex organizations.
Excellent leadership skills-you know how to coach, motivate, and elevate a team.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
