Construction Assistant Project Manager

The Construction Assistant Project Manager will work closely with our Project Managers and field teams to support all phases of construction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in commercial construction who is ready to take the next step in their career.

We are a well-established general contractor based in Murrieta, CA, specializing in large-scale commercial building and construction, with a strong focus on big box retail projects across Southern California and beyond. We're looking for a skilled and motivated Construction Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our growing portfolio and help lead high-profile commercial builds from pre-construction through closeout.

Description

• Assist in managing all phases of big box retail construction projects

• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination

• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders

• Maintain project documentation and logs

• Attend site meetings and assist with progress tracking and reporting

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors, and field personnel

• Support project closeout and punch list management

Profile

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with big box retail projects

• Strong understanding of construction processes, documents, and scheduling

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in construction software (Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar)

• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

• Ability to travel to job sites as needed
