Project Manager
This is a project management role focused on delivering NYC public work-including SCA, DDC, and DASNY projects-on time and within budget. You'll manage project lifecycles from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring full compliance with public-sector requirements, union labor coordination, and agency communication.

The client is a mid-sized general contractor with a strong focus on public and institutional construction in NYC. They have decades of experience working with the SCA, DDC, and other city agencies, delivering projects in active schools, government buildings, and public facilities. Their team is known for its commitment to safety, accountability, and community engagement.
Description
Manage end-to-end project execution, from bid award through turnover
Serve as primary point of contact with SCA, DDC, and other public agencies
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and change orders
Oversee subcontractor procurement and contract administration in compliance with NYC regulations
Ensure full adherence to SCA standards, MWBE goals, certified payroll, and reporting requirements
Coordinate with site superintendents to ensure field alignment with contract documents
Lead internal and agency progress meetings, providing detailed updates and documentation
Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and payment applications
Ensure timely closeout, punch list completion, and turnover documentation
Profile
You are a highly organized project manager with demonstrated success delivering public-sector construction projects in New York City. You understand the nuances of working with the SCA and other city agencies, and you bring a solutions-oriented mindset to regulatory, logistical, and field challenges.
Qualifications:
5+ years of project management experience on public-sector construction projects (SCA experience required)
Thorough knowledge of SCA procedures, guidelines, and paperwork requirements
Experience with DDC, DASNY, or NYCHA projects a strong plus
Familiarity with prevailing wage compliance, certified payroll, and MWBE tracking
Strong understanding of NYC building codes and public procurement processes
Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Excel for reporting and documentation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
OSHA 30 and NYC SST certifications required
