Description

The Traveling Superintendent - Public Projects - North & South Carolina will be responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing project schedules, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely completion
  • Supervising and managing construction teams, subcontractors, and personnel to promote collaboration and efficiency
  • Providing strong leadership and direction to meet project objectives and uphold company standards
  • Communicating project expectations, updates, and changes clearly to all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams
  • Conducting regular meetings to assess project progress and address any emerging issues
  • Enforcing quality standards for construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Performing inspections and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols on-site to guarantee a secure working environment
  • Leading regular safety meetings and inspections to foster a culture of safety and compliance
  • Applying comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques to ensure the successful execution of projects

The successful Traveling Superintendent - Public Projects - North & South Carolina will have the following experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing your own projects with a commercial general contractor
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate construction teams, subcontractors, and other personnel on-site
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey project expectations, updates, and changes to relevant parties
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, including unexpected delays, design modifications, and unforeseen challenges
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, techniques, and local building codes and regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Experience in tracking expenses and identifying cost-effective solutions to keep projects within budget
  • Proficiency in creating and managing construction schedules while ensuring adherence to timelines
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, including the ability to interpret contract documents, negotiate terms, and enforce contract requirements
  • Capability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and construction teams
  • Familiarity with construction management software
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and effectively addressing disputes that may arise among team members on-site
