Process Engineer - Plastics Manufacturing - Salem, NH
The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing and manufacturing profile extrusion tooling while developing custom processes to enhance quality, material efficiency, and productivity. The position collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Materials, and Sales teams to achieve shared operational goals.

Description
Some Key Responsibilities for the Process Engineer Include:
- Design tooling and develop processes for mono and co-extrusion plastic profiles, tubes, and secondary fabrication, either independently or in collaboration with Process Engineers.
- Lead new tooling development projects, using a hands-on approach to meet customer expectations and ensure timely sample delivery.
- Partner with production, maintenance, and quality control teams to establish efficient processes and obtain first article sample approvals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Coordinate tooling requirements for new products with Die Development, technicians, and the Production Manager.
- Oversee tool-making activities in the machine shop, ensuring tools meet design standards and uphold the company's high-quality workmanship.
- Act as a liaison for the machine shop, coordinating vendor interactions and managing external tooling relationships.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to procure necessary materials for machine shop operations, including steel and other supplies.

Profile
A successful Process Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience in plastic manufacturing, with a preference for expertise in plastic extrusion die design and process development.
- Strong understanding of various plastic resins and processing techniques.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD/CAM software.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail, both independently and under supervision.
