Description

1. Product Backlog Management: Plan, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business value and strategic goals.
2. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams, business teams, and external stakeholders to understand needs and clarify product feature specifications.
3. Value Assessment and Prioritization: Evaluate and prioritize product stories, epics, and themes to ensure alignment with product strategy.
4. Roadblock Mitigation: Identify and resolve obstacles to ensure sprint/release goals are met.
5. Release Planning: Lead product-release plans and manage expectations for new functionality delivery.
6. Product Ambassadorship: Serve as the product ambassador, sharing knowledge and answering questions internally and externally.

These responsibilities ensure that the product development process aligns with business objectives and delivers value to stakeholders.

Profile

A successful candidate for the BI Product Owner role would have a strong understanding of business intelligence (BI) concepts and tools, particularly Power BI, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable product features. They should have experience managing product backlogs, prioritizing features based on business value or ROI, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product development.

From a Power BI standpoint, the candidate should be adept at guiding the creation of interactive and insightful dashboards and reports, ensuring that business requirements are effectively captured and translated into data visualizations that inform decision-making. Additionally, they should be proficient in SQL to help assess data needs, write queries, and understand how to leverage the database to ensure the product's features align with data sources and structures.

Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential, as the candidate will work with various stakeholders, mitigate roadblocks, and manage product releases. The ideal candidate will also have a good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen, enabling them to make informed decisions that drive value and improve business processes.

Job Offer

A 12 month fully remote contract position, with an immediate start date. Candidates must have expereince as a Product Owner covering PowerBI tools and SQL.
