Description

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong communication and coordination with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project scope, schedule, and expectations throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Oversee the project safety program, conduct weekly safety audits, enforce company and regulatory safety standards, and ensure any identified risks or incidents are immediately addressed and corrected.
  • Develop and actively manage project schedules, including the critical path, key milestones, and sequencing of trades, while ensuring schedules are updated regularly to meet project deadlines.
  • Implement and manage project documentation and controls, including RFIs, submittals, field orders, progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence, ensuring accurate records throughout the project.
  • Manage project financials and contract administration, including change orders, pay applications, cost tracking, budget forecasting, and subcontractor/vendor payments while maintaining cost control.
  • Coordinate project staffing and subcontractor prequalification with internal teams to ensure the project is properly resourced and subcontractors meet company standards.
  • Lead project meetings and coordination efforts, oversee quality control processes, and ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Mentor and support project team members while ensuring successful project closeout, including punch lists, final documentation, warranties, and final payment processing.

Profile

The Project Manager will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience in large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, design principles, project finance, and management, with a thorough understanding of corporate and industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with tact, diplomacy, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proven experience with General Contractor (GC) or Construction Manager (CM) roles, demonstrating successful oversight of complex commercial construction projects.
