This general contracting firm, headquartered in MD, with additional offices in Florida and California, specializes in hospitality renovations throughout the United States. With a strong focus on delivering comprehensive construction and renovation services for hotels and resorts, the company has built a solid reputation in the industry. Boasting a team of over 50 professionals, it manages projects that range from $3 million to $50 million. Known for its positive company culture and commitment to internal growth, the firm prioritizes promoting talent from within, positioning itself for continued expansion in the hospitality sector. Recently acquired by a national construction management firm, they are looking to grow their team by bringing on an experienced Estimator.

Description

The Estimator - Hospitality Construction - ESOP Company will be responsible for:

  • preparing detailed cost estimates for hospitality construction projects, considering various factors such as materials, labor, equipment, permits, subcontractor bids, and overhead costs
  • performing quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering plans to determine the amount of materials and labor required for each phase of the construction project.
  • soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluating them to ensure the most competitive and cost-effective options are selected
  • collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and monitoring expenses throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to the budget
  • identifying potential cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and providing alternative solutions without compromising the quality of the project
  • maintaining accurate and detailed records of cost estimates, budgets, change orders, and other relevant project documentation.
  • building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure a reliable network of resources for future projects
  • staying updated on industry trends, labor costs, material prices, and other factors that may impact project costs to provide the most accurate estimates
  • collaborating closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders, to coordinate and integrate estimating efforts
  • identifying potential risks and uncertainties related to project cost estimates and proposing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • continuously reviewing and improving estimating processes and techniques to enhance accuracy and efficiency

Profile

The Estimator - Hospitality Construction - ESOP Company will have:

  • at least 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor
  • hospitality, mixed-use, multifamily or similar project experience required
  • a bachelor's degree in a construction related field preferred
  • proficiency in construction estimating software, spreadsheets and other relevant tools
  • strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • ability to handle multiple project simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
  • strong problem-solving skills
