My client is looking for an Estimator to join their team based out of Warrenton, VA. My Client is a leading 8A contractor with over 15 years of expertise in underground utility installations, specializing in trenchless methods for the data center and power plant sectors.

Description

As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the preconstruction phase of projects, providing accurate and competitive cost assessments to support project success. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for precision and a desire to make a tangible impact on the company's growth and reputation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for dry utility projects (e.g., electrical, telecommunications, gas) by analyzing project documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment for underground utility installations.
• Compile and submit bids on time, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project scope.
• Source quotes from vendors and subcontractors, evaluating options for competitive and reliable pricing.
• Assess project budgets, identify risks or savings, and collaborate with project management to adjust costs as needed.
• Track actual project costs and compare against estimates to refine future estimates and improve accuracy.
• Analyze project risks related to site conditions, regulations, and potential schedule impacts, developing mitigation strategies.
• Stay informed on local market conditions, industry trends, and material price fluctuations to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates align with site conditions and construction methods.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and changes for internal reference and project audits

Profile

The perfect candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. With 2-5 years of experience in estimating and proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam, this individual is ready to contribute to My Client's success while honing their skills in a dynamic role.
