Vice President, Underwriting

The Vice President, Underwriting will play a critical role in evaluating and approving LIHTC property investments, ensuring the highest standards in risk assessment and deal structuring. Description

• Lead the underwriting process for property investment opportunities, including risk assessment and financial analysis.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and standards to ensure consistent evaluation practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure deals and assess feasibility.
• Review and approve underwriting reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to inform underwriting decisions.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members within the underwriting department.
• Communicate underwriting findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and company standards in the underwriting process.

Profile

A successful Vice President, Underwriting should have:

• LIHTC experience or Section 8 is ESSENTIAL
• A strong background in property underwriting and risk assessment.
• Proven expertise in financial modeling and investment analysis.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to leadership.
• The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive approach to staying informed on market and industry trends.
