CNC Machining - Manufacturing Engineer - Taunton, MA
A precision machine shop in Taunton, MA is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support a high-mix, low-volume CNC environment. This role focuses on CNC programming, fixturing, and process optimization, working closely with machinists to improve efficiency and quality. The Taunton facility is focused on CNC programming and engineering, supported by a lean, experienced team. Description
Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming & Fixturing: Create and optimize CNC programs for a variety of precision-machined components, supporting operators with fixturing strategies and tooling setups.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate current processes to identify opportunities for better throughput, quality, and efficiency across low-volume, high-mix production.
- Troubleshooting & Floor Support: Work directly with machinists to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with ITAR and customer quality standards; collaborate with quality team on inspections and audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support the GM, sales team, and other engineers in delivering high-quality parts on time and to spec.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- 3+ years in a precision machining environment; CNC experience a must (mill, lathe, or mill-turn).
- Strong hands-on skills - whether you're a machinist-turned-engineer or someone who loves being on the floor, this role rewards practical know-how.
- Comfortable working in ITAR-regulated environments (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency preferred).
- Background in medical or aerospace manufacturing is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and a knack for problem-solving on complex parts.
- Degree not required - skill and experience are what count here.
