Controller

We have a really exciting new role for a global (rapidly growing) IT, SaaS and Fintech company that are looking for a Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will have 3 direct reports and will oversee the monthly close, as well as run the financial planning and analysis for the business.

Client Details

The client are a global platform that work across the SaaS, fintech and entertainment industry. The company is growing very quickly and has a lean finance team of 4 people. They are looking to add a Controller into the role to run the day to day accounting team, oversee the monthly close and manage the financial planning and analysis for the business.

The successful candidate will oversee 3 junior candidates, and will be responsible for the improvement of processes and systems. The role is mainly remote (with very in-frequent travel to the Manhattan office) and will report directly into the CFO and CEO of the business.

Description

The successful Controller will:

• Oversee the end-to-end monthly close process
• Lead all aspects of financial operations, including GAAP-compliant accounting, reporting, and controls
• Oversee 3 direct reports and a contractor bookkeeper, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling - lead all financial planning and analysis
• Own monthly close, board reporting, and investor-ready financial packages
• Implement scaleable systems and processes to support rapid growth and data integrity - NetSuite preferred
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations to align financial strategy with business goals

Profile

The successful Controller will:

• Approximately 2+ years experience in a similar level role (Controller or VP of Finance)
• Have a strong level of public accounting experience, with a mix of industry knowledge
• Have prior experience working in a similar role (running a lean team in a small business)
• MUST have a prior working knowledge of the system NetSuite
• Prior experience working in a high-pace, high-volume and low value industry (ideally from E-Commerce, tech, Fintech, SaaS backgrounds)
• Strong line management skills
• Needs to have excellent Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Offer

• $180,000 - $220,000
