Senior Laser Process Development Engineer - Lawrence, MA
The Senior Laser Process Development Engineer will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, developing and optimizing laser-based processes for product development, packaging improvements, and high-volume production. This role involves troubleshooting laser systems, analyzing performance, improving efficiency, and collaborating across functions to achieve operational excellence.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine laser processes, including specification, qualification, scale-up, and production.
- Troubleshoot laser systems and optimize parameters for maximum yield and quality.
- Communicate with laser manufacturers and internal teams to identify new opportunities and technologies.
- Implement SPC, DOE, FMEAs, and other process controls to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, and packaging innovations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on NPI, design, operations, and quality goals.
- Maintain thorough documentation of processes, procedures, and equipment specifications.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Physics, Optics, or related engineering field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of laser application experience in R&D and production environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of lasers, optics, and material processing.
- Proficiency in laser programming software, CAD software (CircuitCAM, SolidWorks preferred), SPC, DOE, FMEA, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of laser safety standards and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking abilities in a high-paced environment.
