Staff Accountant - Manufacturer - Bolingbrook, IL
As the Staff Accountant, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the accounting and finance function. Reporting into the Controller, this individual will learn and assist with the corporate month-end close process, while also handling any ad hoc special projects to drive the business forward. In addition, you will also have a clear and fast track progression to become the Senior Accountant!

Description
Staff Accountant Responsibilites:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with international accounting standards.
- Provide insights into financial performance and variances to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis to optimize manufacturing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of production costs.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to department heads.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.
- Streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to gather information and support decision-making. Provide financial expertise to support business initiatives and projects.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization and/or public accounting firm
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and international accounting standards.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
