Sales Application Engineer: Assist the Northeast Outside Territory Sales Manager by providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support. Help customers understand the full capabilities of Thayer Scale's products and solutions
Client Details
My client specializes in the design and manufacture of continuous weighing and feeding equipment for dry solids conveying and processing. Some of their products include: conveyor belt scales, weigh belt feeders, loss-in-weight feeders, volumetric feeders, material flow promotion devices, and process instrumentation.They sell into: food processing, pharmaceutical, energy, power plants, energy, building materials, mines, wood production, chemical & industrial industries.
The company is known for stability, niche products, and significant growth potential within the process instrumention space.
Description
- Sales Support: Assist the Outside Territory Sales Manager by providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support. Help customers understand the full capabilities of the company's products and solutions.
- Application Engineering: Collaborate with customers and the sales team to assess technical requirements and provide tailored solutions. Ensure the proposed solutions are aligned with customer needs and the company's capabilities.
- Proposal Development: Work closely with engineering teams to create accurate and detailed proposals, including technical specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines for products like conveyor belt scales, weigh belt feeders, and more.
- Product Knowledge & Training: Maintain a strong understanding of the company's product offerings and industry applications. Support customers and internal teams with training and technical guidance as needed.
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing queries, offering solutions, and following up on orders.
- Sales Documentation & Reporting: Assist in maintaining accurate sales records, including quotes, order status, and customer interactions. Support the Territory Sales Manager in tracking performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Coordination with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure the smooth execution of customer orders and timely delivery.
- Market Research: Keep track of industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to help develop targeted sales strategies for the Northeast region.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related fields) or equivalent technical experience.
- Proven experience in inside sales or application engineering, preferably within the industrial sector.
- Strong understanding of bulk material handling systems and products such as conveyor belt scales, weigh belt feeders, and related equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in sales software (CRM tools), MS Office Suite, and technical documentation.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a remote sales team.
- Prior experience in supporting sales teams and working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
