EHS Specialist

This role leads the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace across manufacturing operations. It focuses on driving safety culture, managing compliance initiatives, conducting investigations and training, and supporting continuous improvement in all EH&S practices.

Description

  • Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS policies and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Prepare and submit required EHS reports and documentation to regulatory agencies.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering & Manufacturing department.

Profile

A successful EHS Specialist should have:

  • B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an EH&S role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MassDEP, RCRA, Life Safety, EH&S practices, and Industrial Hygiene methods; HAZWOPER preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and implement practical solutions.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
