This is a senior‑level opportunity to join a nationally recognized, ENR‑ranked commercial construction GC with a long‑standing reputation for excellence, repeat clients, and award‑winning project delivery. As Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will sit at the center of the business in Austin, influencing pricing strategy, risk management, and project outcomes from the earliest stages. You will partner closely with executive leadership, clients, and design teams on complex, design‑led commercial projects. The role offers genuine autonomy, visibility, and a clear path into long‑term leadership within a people‑first, growth‑oriented organization.

Description

• Lead the development of complex conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial construction projects
• Drive pricing strategy, risk analysis, and value engineering to support profitable project delivery
• Oversee detailed quantity take‑offs, subcontractor scopes, and bid administration processes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and key trade partners
• Manage subcontractor prequalification, bid evaluations, and market intelligence
• Partner with internal proposal and marketing teams during pursuits and presentations
• Mentor and guide junior estimators and preconstruction staff as part of a growing team

Profile

• Extensive experience in preconstruction or estimating within commercial construction
• Proven success delivering estimates for interior, renovation, or capital improvement projects
• Deep understanding of construction means and methods, market pricing, and trade partner dynamics
• Advanced proficiency with estimating and take‑off software such as Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff, etc.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high‑performing teams
