CNC Programming Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing
My Aerosapce Manufacturing client is looking for a CNC Programming Engineer to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for developing computer numerically controlled (CNC) programs that automate machining tools, using computer-generated electronic data to ensure precision and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

My client is a precision manufacturing company specializing in high-quality tooling, components, and assemblies for the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. They provide advanced CNC machining, engineering support, and assembly services to meet tight tolerances and complex specifications.
Description
The main responsibilities for the CNC Programming Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to all safety standards and regulations; consistently follow company safety culture and wear required PPE.
- Developing CNC programs, select appropriate tooling, and define tool paths using CAM software.
- Verifying programs using Vericut software to ensure accuracy and prevent machine collisions.
- Creating detailed tooling and setup sheets to support efficient production.
- Troubleshooting and resolve tooling and programming issues on the shop floor.
- Reviewing and revising existing programs and processes to improve setup times and overall efficiency.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area in accordance with 6S procedures.
Profile
The successful CNC Programming Engineer will have the following qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience programming CNC machines for both milling and lathe operations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and modify CNC code directly on the shop floor.
- Hands-on experience operating multi-axis CNC mills and lathes.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; NX preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid understanding of CNC machining techniques, materials, and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints; proficient in GD&T.
- Knowledge of appropriate tooling selection and the ability to apply proper speeds and feeds based on materials and process requirements.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and industry specifications.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work well under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
