Quality Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing - Somerset, MA
The Quality Engineer will apply quality and process engineering principles to develop and optimize systems, ensuring alignment with business and quality objectives. They will collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements, maintain compliance, and enhance overall operational efficiency at our Somerset, MA facility.

Description
The Quality Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing / Metal Manufacturing will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with ISO 13485.
- Define, measure, and analyze key quality metrics to drive process compliance, product performance, and continuous improvement.
- Establish in-process and incoming inspection requirements, updating specifications and protocols as needed.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures in cross-functional teams.
- Optimize quality and production planning to enhance efficiency and reliability, including equipment lifecycle management.
- Maintain and execute production monitoring plans per customer contracts and best practices.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of maintenance, production, and quality procedures per regulatory requirements.
- Support new business qualification by developing process control plans and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments, PFMEAs, and process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) to confirm process capability.
- Develop and implement SOPs, perform statistical analysis, and drive data-based decision-making for operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all quality engineering activities.
- Train and support teams on new processes, procedures, and equipment to ensure successful implementation and operation.
- Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, onsite at our Somerset, MA facility
Profile
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals.
- Experience in metal finishing processes such as electropolishing, electroplating, or anodizing strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001; experience with ISO 13485 strongly preferred.
- Strong background in process control, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with electrochemical processes and surface treatments.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or related field preferred but not required.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and supplier quality management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive process improvements.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, and DOE.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and suppliers.
- Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
