MEP Estimator - Washington, DC - K-12 Construction
The MEP Estimator will play a pivotal role in the preconstruction process, focusing on fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical (FP/P/M/E) construction estimating. This individual will manage accurate material take-offs, prepare budgets, coordinate with management and estimators, and perform value engineering. This is a highly collaborative role requiring technical expertise and an ability to work with internal teams and external subcontractors.

Description
- Perform detailed material take-offs for FP/P/M/E scopes and create scope and bid tabulation sheets.
- Prepare milestone budgets during preconstruction and maintain cost histories for pricing accuracy.
- Collaborate with management and estimators, providing insights on project pricing and scope issues.
- Conduct systems studies, value engineering, and scope clarifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and general contractors.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments relevant to estimating.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior-level estimating role, with flexibility for candidates with slightly less experience if they demonstrate strong capabilities.
- Experience with educational, healthcare, senior living, libraries, or similar projects is highly preferred. Multifamily project experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Sage, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and estimating software like Onscreen Takeoff or PlanSwift is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Job Offer
- Base Salary: Up to $145,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates).
- Bonus: 10% performance-based.
