Description

The Field Service Engineer will:

  • Serve as the primary on-site technical expert for automotive mechanical systems
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment at customer sites
  • Provide technical support and training to customers to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to communicate field insights and recommend improvements
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Maintain detailed service reports and documentation for all field activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during all service operations
  • Manage frequent travel to customer locations (approximately 90% travel)
  • Respond promptly to service requests and resolve issues efficiently
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring problems and suggesting solutions
  • Work independently and manage time effectively in a dynamic field environment
  • Uphold high customer service standards to foster strong client relationships

Profile

The successful Field Service Engineer applicant will have:

  • Strong mechanical background, ideally with formal education or hands-on experience
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and equipment
  • Experience working independently in field-based or customer-facing roles
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills for technical support and customer interactions
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (around 90% of the time)
  • Experience documenting service activities and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently
  • Proficiency with using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and service software
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards in all work performed
