Senior Project Engineer | PMA | Aerospace
You will create engineering drawings, performing measurements and material assessments of OEM components using advanced tools and methods, conducting data and structural analyses, preparing design substantiation documentation, supporting manufacturing development, ensuring hardware conformity, and assisting with customer evaluations. Our Client is a subsidiary of a successful and technology-driven aerospace, industrial, defense and electronics company that is publicly listed in the New York Stock Exchange, and has been in business for more than 60 years. Our Client's subsidiary focuses on designing, engineering, manufacturing, repairing, distributing, and overhauling FAA-approved parts that extend over the entire aircraft, from engines to brakes and interiors.
Description
- Oversee project activities required to obtain FAA approval for assigned hardware.
- Responsibilities include creating engineering drawings, performing measurements and material assessments of OEM components using advanced tools and methods, conducting data and structural analyses, preparing design substantiation documentation, supporting manufacturing development, ensuring hardware conformity, and assisting with customer evaluations.
- Define and manage vendor substantiation tasks for assigned hardware, including supplier development and qualification.
- Provide support for the production of assigned hardware.
- Assist with New Product Development efforts as needed.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Advanced degree preferred.
- A Minimum of 5 years relevant OEM design experience preferred.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, including investment casting.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and coatings.
- Experience in GD&T per ANSI Y14.5M
- Working Knowledge in FAA Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's)
- FEM analysis experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experienced in Solid Works and PCDMIS preferred.
- Strong work ethic.
- A high attention to detail.
- Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
