Description
- Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities for commercial projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and timelines
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, and labor resources to optimize project efficiency
- Implement and maintain strict safety standards, promoting a culture of safety awareness among all on-site personnel
- Perform regular quality assurance checks and promptly address any deviations from project standards
- Develop and adjust project schedules as needed, proactively identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks
- Liaise with project managers, design teams, and clients to address technical challenges and incorporate design modifications
- Oversee project budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and site records
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements
- Conduct site tours for clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating project progress and addressing concerns
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development
Profile
- Minimum 10 years of superintendent experience
- Comprehensive understanding of construction techniques, building systems, and industry standards
- Thorough knowledge of local and national building codes, safety regulations, and permit processes
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Proficient with construction management software, scheduling tools, and basic computer applications
- Exceptional leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking and innovative problem-solving
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
- OSHA 30-hour certification required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Additional certifications in project management or specific construction specialties are advantageous
