CNC Process Engineer - Aerospace - South Windsor, CT
This on‑site CNC Process Engineer role is centered around building, refining, and improving CNC machining processes for complex, precision‑engineered components. You will partner closely with engineering, programming, tooling, and shop‑floor teams to elevate machining performance, develop robust manufacturing methods, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Description
This CNC Process Engineer will:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing precision components
- Support and refine CNC machining processes, ensuring efficient setups, accurate toolpaths, and reliable throughput
- Provide input on Mastercam programming and collaborate with programmers to enhance machining strategies
- Troubleshoot shop‑floor issues involving processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Design new tooling and fixtures and improve existing designs to support robust manufacturing
- Produce engineering drawings, operation sheets, and documentation for new part introductions
- Review and interpret customer specifications and research new manufacturing methods
- Interact closely with operators, customers, and vendors to resolve technical challenges

Profile
A successful CNC Process Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science (preferred)
- 5+ years of hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining environment
- Background in aerospace manufacturing
- Strong proficiency in Mastercam; comfortable evaluating and influencing toolpaths
- Experience designing tooling/fixtures for multi‑axis CNC operations
- Familiarity with ISO9001 / AS9100D quality environments
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, with a collaborative mindset
- Comfortable on the shop floor diagnosing machining issues and improving processes
