Senior Process Engineer - Oil & Gas - Waltham, MA

Description

You will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for...

• Developing industrial pumping, filtration, mixing, storage, and membrane systems.

• Developing, modifying, and maintaining project-specific process design packages (PFD, P&IDs, specifications).

• Completing process analyses for systems and sub-components (e.g., mass balances, pump calculations, heat exchanger sizing, tank sizing, pipe sizing).

• Performing process static and dynamic analyses, including sensitivity studies.

• Evaluating technologies and strategies to enhance performance, operability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Establishing factory and site acceptance procedures, including commissioning support.

• Creating component specifications (RFQs), selecting parts, and coordinating with vendors.

• Leading hazard analysis on systems (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP).

• Supporting root cause analysis of failure modes.

• Providing training and guidance to employees, co-ops, customers, and contractors.

Profile

A successful candidate will have...

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 5+ years of complex process/ piping systems design for capital projects
• Large industrial scale equipment experience
• Familiarity with separation processes desired
• AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Strong communication skills
