Senior Manufacturing Engineer CNC - Aerospace - Buffalo, NY

This role leads advanced machining and CNC programming for precision aerospace components while supporting new product launches, production readiness, and continuous improvements. You will serve as a key technical authority, supporting multi‑axis machining, quality compliance, and collaborative engineering initiatives.

Description

  • Develop and refine CNC machining processes for complex, safety‑critical components.
  • Lead tooling, fixturing, process planning, and optimization for high‑mix aerospace production.
  • Create, verify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and CNC lathes.
  • Support new product introduction through routings, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability and influence design decisions.
  • Support FAI, PRR, and production readiness efforts.
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and capability improvements.
  • Mentor engineers, programmers, and machinists on advanced machining practices.
  • Identify automation, tooling, and technology opportunities that elevate performance.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in precision CNC machining.
  • Advanced multi‑axis CNC programming and CAM proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials and machining best practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to ASME standards.
  • Experience working within AS9100 environments and supporting FAI processes.
  • Preferred: NADCAP exposure, lean/CI certifications, and machining of tight‑tolerance aerospace components.
