Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer will lead and support quality assurance efforts within a manufacturing environment, including the development of quality standards, execution of internal audits, and resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will also collaborate cross-functionally to monitor process performance, support external audits, and drive operational excellence in line with ISO 9001 standards.

Description
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and inspection protocols.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits (e.g., ISO, customer).
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, trends, and SPC data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, customer service, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Manage nonconforming reports (NCRs), customer complaints, and quality documentation.
- Train staff on inspection methods, SPC systems, and quality procedures.
- Support the PPAP process and review supplier quality documentation.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
- Lead or contribute to FMEA and risk assessment activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a quality-focused culture on the shop floor.
Profile
A successful Quality Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of SPC, control plans, and basic statistical analysis.
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
- Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work safely in a production environment and lift up to 45 lbs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) to suppliers or other sites.
