Industrial - Embedded Control Engineer II - Providence, RI
The Embedded Controls Engineer II is responsible for developing, designing, and implementing hardware and firmware for embedded systems, ensuring project objectives and schedules are met. Key tasks include creating functional specifications, circuit schematics, printed circuit board designs, and firmware, along with conducting circuit simulations. Success is measured by the accuracy and reliability of these deliverables, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet technical requirements.

Its core products include well-regarded circulators and pumps, known for their durability and reliability, along with a range of additional components and devices for fluid management and heat exchange.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Designs circuit schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Codes, tests, debugs, and modifies complex embedded systems.
- Facilitates hardware and firmware design and code reviews.
- Documents and archives software releases per company processes.
- Develops product requirements and functional specifications.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams for scalable solutions.
- Evaluates hardware and firmware requirements for design feasibility.
- Identifies and mitigates issues and risks in hardware/firmware applications.
- Mentors junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Provides technical expertise to project teams, sales, and customers.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Over six years of experience in embedded systems hardware and firmware development.
- Knowledgeable in power electronics hardware development.
- Proficient in circuit schematic and PCB design tools.
- Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB-Simulink, PSpice, and Python.
- Solid understanding of basic electrical testing equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters).
- Strong skills in C programming and assembly languages.
- Familiarity with version control and bug tracking software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, training, and customer interactions.
