Procurement Manager - Ingredients
Brand New Position! Our client is hiring for their first ever 'Procurement Manager' to directly support the Director of Procurement. Position will grow into a leadership role; but, will start off owning $35MM in annual spend across ingredients (dairy & confections) and packaging categories. Very unique role - our client's #1 mission is deliver top quality products that their consumers can trust!

Client is a Global Food & Beverage Manufacturing Organization with a Portfolio of Brands sold through the Food Service and Retail Sectors. While this role will predominately sit out of the clients site/office in Union County, NJ - our client currently has 4 locations across the NYC Metro area with plans to continue to grow.
Description
- Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge for assigned categories, particularly dairy.
- Conduct market intelligence analysis to identify new sources and evaluate competition, customer, and consumer trends.
- Collaborate with production teams for the qualification of new suppliers and materials.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and manage internal/external stakeholder engagement.
- Optimize procurement processes and inventory management methods, including support for replenishment models.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure value while upholding quality and supply continuity.
- Partner with R&D, Quality, Finance, and Operations to align procurement strategies with business goals.
- Collaborate with planning and inventory teams to assess material requirements.
- Support sales forecasting by anticipating stock needs, especially for international products.
- Drive cost, capacity, quality, and service improvements in procurement activities.
- Implement and monitor vendor scorecards, reviews, and corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, food safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
- Track and report on key metrics, including cost savings and inventory health.
- Support S&OP planning with demand insights related to procurement.
Profile
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on dairy or perishable goods.
- Importing experience and risk management knowledge required.
- In-depth understanding of dairy products and supply chain dynamics.
- Proven procurement experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably the food industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional initiatives.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant business experience.
- Willingness to travel to vendor locations and across 4 bakery sites (NY/NJ).
