Industrial - Heat Treat Manager - Amherst, NH
The Heat Treat Manager will lead all heat treat operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You'll manage a skilled team, oversee equipment maintenance, ensure compliance with metallurgy standards, and drive continuous improvements. This hands-on leadership role blends daily operational management with strategic process enhancements.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day heat treat operations, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and team performance.
- Ensure all processes meet metallurgy specifications, hardness requirements, and industry quality standards (including Nadcap).
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs, minimize downtime, and oversee process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members to support professional growth and succession planning.
- Lead preparation for Nadcap audits and ensure ongoing compliance with safety and environmental protocols.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of heat treat operations experience and 5+ years leading production teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Expertise with heat treat equipment (furnaces, quench systems) and deep understanding of metallurgy processes.
- Proven success in aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance administrative and hands-on work.
