Staff Accountant - Bookkeeper

Great opportunity for a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper candidate who can focus to ensure consistent, accurate data, as well as think independently and question when things don't seem right.

Our client is a family-owned commercial construction, design, and project management firm that has been in business for 25+ years.

Description

• Process weekly payroll tax paperwork, running GL reports, prepare statements for entry into state/federal/401k websites
• Print weekly payroll union reports, validate data against GL reports, prepare union payments
• Prepare quarterly reports for state and federal tax reporting requirements
• Enter vendor invoice details into AP system, validate information, and print checks
• Maintain manual log of online payments, enter data into system for tracking
• Generate daily positive pay reports and upload them onto the banking website
• Verify daily banking activity, confirming online payments and daily deposits
• Reconcile bank statements for payroll and operating accounts each month
• Enter subcontracts, consultant agreements, and material purchase orders into our system and prepare the drafts

Profile

• 5 + Years of general accounting / bookkeeping experience
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
• Stellar organization skills / attention to detail; Accuracy is critical - double check & proofread all work
• Experience with any payroll / accounting system (Sage 300 is a plus)
