Description

The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for:

• Develop and Implement Safety Policies:

  • Create and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Regularly review and update safety protocols to keep them current with evolving regulations and best practices.

• Conduct Safety Inspections and Audits:

  • Perform routine safety inspections on construction sites to identify hazards and ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.

• Training and Education:

  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and management to ensure everyone understands and follows safety protocols.
  • Ensure workers are trained in the correct use of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.

• Incident Investigation and Reporting:

  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and accidents, and communicate findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure Compliance with Regulations:

  • Stay up to date with federal, state, and local safety regulations (such as OSHA, EPA, etc.) and ensure construction activities comply with these laws.
  • Ensure necessary permits and documentation are in place for safety compliance and work with regulatory agencies when necessary.

• Risk Assessment and Hazard Mitigation:

  • Conduct risk assessments on construction sites to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Work with project managers and engineers to address specific safety concerns related to the project

Profile

The ideal Construction Safety Manager will have:

• 5-10+ years years of Safety experience with a General Contractor or Developer
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related preferred (or relevant experience)
• Commercial project experience required (with a GC)
• Experience managing projects $5M+
• Ability to communicate with subcontractors and other project team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Ability to multitask
• Strong communication and interpersonal skill
• Ability to educate and enforce OSHA regulations and safety protocols
