Superintendent - Healthcare

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on healthcare construction projects across NYC. This role involves full site management from ground-breaking through turnover, with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule.

Description

  • Oversee daily job site operations for healthcare construction projects

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, schedules, and inspections

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, DOH regulations, and infection control protocols (ICRA/ILSM)

  • Maintain daily reports, site logs, and communicate progress to project managers

  • Lead site meetings and foster a collaborative, proactive jobsite environment

  • Identify and mitigate risks or delays through proactive problem solving

Profile

You're a hands-on leader with deep experience managing healthcare construction in occupied or sensitive environments. You prioritize safety, communicate clearly with all stakeholders, and maintain control of complex field operations.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction sites, with at least 3 years focused on healthcare or hospital projects

  • Strong understanding of NYC building codes and Department of Health (DOH) regulations

  • Proven experience with ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) and ILSM (Interim Life Safety Measures) protocols in active healthcare environments

  • Ability to manage complex schedules and lead subcontractors with a firm but collaborative approach

  • Strong understanding of safety compliance standards and experience conducting safety briefings and audits

  • OSHA 30 certification required

  • Familiarity with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid)

  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills for navigating client, vendor, and field staff dynamics

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field preferred
