Production Manager - Industrial Manufacturing - Albany, NY
This Production Manager role oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll lead a team, optimize processes, and collaborate across departments in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Description
- Execute daily production schedules based on staffing, safety stock, and sales priorities.
- Motivate and guide manufacturing leadership and staff to achieve operational goals.
- Partner with EHS to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Coordinate with planning and purchasing to ensure raw materials and equipment availability.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and reduce scrap and rework through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven KPIs and lean methodologies.
- Optimize workflow, equipment layout, and workforce utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Prepare and present production reports, including plan vs. actual performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing.
- Build employee engagement through positive leadership and open communication.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (plastics experience preferred).
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S principles; certifications are a plus.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- Familiarity with safety, quality, inventory, and production planning processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required); ERP and Power BI experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements.
- Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends as needed.
