Project Accountant - Construction
Responsible for the billing and subcontractor and project payable process of the projects and responsible for tracking the financial progress of projects through reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with company and client contractual and compliance guidelines.
Client Details
Leading general contractor specializing in restaurant construction is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our team. The Project Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring the financial success of construction projects by maintaining accurate cost tracking, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with contract requirements.
Description
- Project Cost Tracking Monitor and report on project budgets, job costing, and financial performance for multiple ongoing construction projects.
- Contract & Billing Management: Prepare and process owner billings (AIA format if applicable), subcontractor pay applications, and vendor invoices. Ensure proper lien waivers and compliance documentation are in place.
- Budget Reconciliation: Work with project managers to review committed costs, change orders, and forecasted budgets. Highlight variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Month-End Close Support: Support monthly and quarterly close processes by ensuring accurate project-related entries and accruals.
- Change Order Tracking: Maintain an up-to-date log of approved and pending change orders, and ensure financial systems reflect changes accordingly.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure projects adhere to contract terms, insurance requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain organized and audit-ready financial files for each project.
- Reporting: Prepare project-specific financial reports, cash flow projections, and performance summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Act as the financial liaison between accounting and operations teams, fostering clear communication to support project success.
Profile
