Plant Engineer | Aerospace
The Plant Engineer will oversee the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of all grounds, buildings, and plant equipment. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of facility systems, production machinery, and infrastructure that support manufacturing operations.

My client is a leading, cutting-edge manufacturer of engineered metal products, serving customers in the aerospace & defense industry. Working with some of the best known brands in aviation, they supply high-quality machined components advancing flight technology. Due to exciting expansion, they are looking to bring on an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all functions within their machining department.
Description
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, roofing, security alarms, and fire protection systems.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of building utilities such as water, gas, air, and sewage systems.
- Ensure proper operation and repair of machine tools, production equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Manage and oversee external contractors, service providers, architects, and vendors.
- Coordinate building construction, equipment installations, and machine repairs.
- Source and purchase maintenance equipment and supplies.
- Plan building layouts, maintenance schedules, and work assignments for complex repair needs.
- Document maintenance activities, including work orders, logs, and preventive maintenance records.
- Identify defective, obsolete, or unsafe equipment and recommend replacement when repair is not cost‑effective.
- Expedite building and machine repairs to prevent production downtime.
- Communicate clearly with all levels of the organization, including machinists, inspectors, programmers, and management.
- Use discretion and independent judgment in daily responsibilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company's quality system.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support plant efficiency and safety.
Profile
- 5+ years of experience in industrial, building, or facilities maintenance within a manufacturing setting
- Strong hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, production machinery, and hazmat disposal
- Ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships
- Strong computer skills and experience with maintenance or manufacturing software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Safety-oriented mindset
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and remain on-call as needed
Job Offer
- Base salary $85,000 - $105,000 depending on experience level
- 401k program with 3% employer match
- 3 Weeks PTO
