We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our dynamic Legal Recruiting team in New York. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience and a strong working knowledge of the VI Recruit system. This individual will play a key role in supporting the firm's attorney recruiting efforts, including summer associates.

Description

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Legal Recruiting team with high volume coordination, entry-level, and lateral attorney hiring.

  • Assist with scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate records, and preparing interview materials.

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in the VI Recruit applicant tracking system; generate reports and track metrics as needed.

  • Help organize and attend recruiting events, such as on-campus interviews (OCI), callback interviews, summer program events, and lateral hiring receptions.

  • Communicate professionally with candidates, law school representatives, search firms, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.

  • Assist with the onboarding and orientation process for new associates and summer associates.

  • Handle candidate reimbursements and expenses in accordance with firm policies.

  • Coordinate with other departments (HR, IT, Marketing, etc.) to ensure a seamless recruiting experience.

  • Support the planning and execution of the firm's summer associate program, including logistics, events, and evaluations.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Legal Recruiting Manager or Director.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of law firm experience, preferably within legal recruiting or professional development.

  • Proficiency in VI Recruit (mandatory); experience with additional recruiting or HR systems a plus.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Availability to work extended hours during peak recruiting seasons and events.
