Plastics - Engineering Manager - Nashua, NH
The Engineering Manager leads and oversees all engineering activities and projects within the organization. This role ensures that engineering initiatives align with company policies and strategic objectives while implementing best practice engineering methodologies. The Manager provides expert technical guidance, integrates cost-effective materials and tools, and manages overall engineering budgets to deliver high-quality and efficient results.

Their facility is equipped with advanced machinery and supports multiple secondary processes, including tooling capabilities. They are recognized for their technical expertise and commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality products with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Optimize processes, employee training, and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead ongoing improvements in equipment, materials, processes, tooling, and automation.
- Manage and direct the Engineering Team's daily activities.
- Identify and execute cost reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with management, production, and sales to define project requirements.
- Research market technology trends and organizational resources to plan feasible projects.
- Oversee installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Review and approve product design changes.
- Establish scientific and technical goals for the engineering department.
- Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for engineering work.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering or related field.
- Minimum five years of hands-on experience in injection molding.
- Understanding or willingness to learn automotive quality standards, including PFMEA and APQP.
- Proven ability to manage projects from inception to production.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and experience programming CMMs and vision systems.
- Strong understanding of plastic molded part defects and root causes.
- Proficiency in GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with APQP and PPAP requirements.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access).
