Director of Grants and Budgets
Our client, a reputable non-profit organization in Brooklyn, is looking for a Director of Grants & Budgets. This is a temp to perm role, and the successful candidate must be immediately available to start a new role.

Well known non-profit organization based in Brooklyn. This role offers hybrid flexibility and potential for FTE within 6 months.
Description
This role will involve:
* Partner with the CFO and finance team members in the preparation of the agency's annual budget and work closely with department leaders regarding the preparation and control of budgets throughout the year.
* Report monthly to the department leaders on the activity in their budgets and propose modifications to their budgets.
* Track and monitor grant compliance and partner with grants management staff to ensure compliance with grant guidelines
* Ensure timely contract close-out, extension or renewal, modifications, and monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.)
* Internal coordination of programmatic and financial audit preparation
* Coordination with auditors and funders for audits
* Work on all aspects of government contract audits including pre-audit preparation of requested documents, actively participate in the auditor's site visit and follow up as needed
* Manage submissions, uploads, amendments to government grantors in all grant and contract portal systems such as PASSport, GrantsGateway, VIPS, HHS Accelerator, and others
* Maintenance of systems to monitor and track contract mandates, deliverables and contract receivables
* Manage contract amendments, close-out budget modifications, and other required documentation for contracts to ensure timely reimbursements and superior contract administration
* Ensure compliance with procurement and governance rules, New York City Charter and other regulations
* Oversee and perform post-award activities including regulatory compliance monitoring, salary and insurance allocations, effort reporting, materials order processing, invoice preparation, payment processing, cost center charges, grant projections, and grant closing processes
* Liaise with agency's General Counsel to ensure that contracts and amendments are reviewed, approved, submitted and filed in a timely manner
* Participate in planning of procurements, solving procurement problems and developing strategies for the timely processing of the portfolio
* Ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing, discounting, bidding policies, etc. in collaboration with Finance department and Programs staff
* Review procedures relating to reporting and make recommendations for improvements
* Perform other duties assigned by CFO
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field with five years' experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience in non-profit accounting
* Experience in grants management with a multi-funder organization
* Demonstrated understanding of funder compliance
* 5-7 years of experience in a non-profit contract management role
* Strong organizational skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
* Ability to learn changing technologies related to grants/contracts management
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated focus on attention to detail
* Demonstrated ability to effectively meet deadlines
* Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and tact
* Strong time management skills, including ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks
* Financial analysis skills preferred
* Proficiency in Sage Intacct for Nonprofits Software
* Advanced Excel skills required including Pivot Tables
* Experience working with New York City and New York State agencies preferred
* Demonstrated ability to maintain records and keep appropriate files and archives of verified work
