Medical Device - Sr Manufactuting Engineer - Wallingford, CT
Seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development, manufacturing optimization, and quoting activities within a medical device contract manufacturing environment. This role will support both base business improvements and new product launches while collaborating across engineering, production, commercial, and customer teams to improve quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead process development and manufacturing improvements utilizing Lean methodologies.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), validation activities, and process optimization initiatives.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions to improve productivity and reduce cost.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, validation protocols, and process specifications.
- Lead costing and quoting efforts for new business opportunities across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Evaluate manufacturability, identify DFM opportunities, and support customer proposal development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, suppliers, and commercial teams.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and internal quality system requirements.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related technical roles within medical device manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and new product launch support.
- Experience with machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, inspection, and sub-processing operations preferred.
- Understanding of FDA regulations, ISO standards, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Experience supporting quoting, costing, or DFM initiatives is highly desirable
